Floral Mosaic Pond

Wait until you see this one! If you’ve been to the studio in the past couple of weeks then you’ve seen me working on this project. This bowl is 12 inches across and super deep.

This vibrant terracotta bowl has been transformed into a pollinator pond! Our buggy friends are so important to our ecosystem and need water just as much as the birds. The problem with ponds is that bugs don’t have anywhere to land so they often get stuck and drown… I found some amazing floating pollinator pads that bugs can land on!!! So we’re going to make a beautiful mosaic pond so our little buggy friends can safely get a drink of water.

In this workshop, I will provide an 20-inch terracotta bowl, fill in the bottom with concrete and completely prep it for proper mosaic application. We will be using 100% recycled glass tile in this project to keep it eco-friendly. There is no cutting or use of any tools so this is a beginner-friendly project.

We will start at 10:00 and work until noon. We will take a one-hour break where you can choose to pack a lunch and continue to work or feel free to take a break and visit one of the many local restaurants. We will work until 4:00 and then call it quits for the day. Please don’t expect to finish this project in one day. We will discuss options on how to finish.

A take-home grout kit will be included in the cost of this workshop. If you choose to leave it with us to be professionally grouted there will be a $30.00 grout fee.
